That's fucked up, cause I was thinking about getting Norton. I was looking towards Malwarebytes, but I heard someone say that it gives viruses. I'm not sure if that's true. Someone said that Malware deleted their whole pc. Kinda like a Back-up but all the way to the beginning where the PC thinks it's never been used at all. I know AVG does that; they used to be my PC protection, but not anymore cause of that recent bullshit AVG did.

Just curious: What's this Microsoft Security Essentials? Is it a website download or store bought thingy?

Microsoft Security Essentials is the ONLY antivirus program you should have installed.

If you wish, you can use programs like CCleaner as supplemental cleaners, but they are not AV programs. DO NOT under any circumstances install any of that other crap. Especially anything Norton or McAfee. Because of how Windows 7 handles it's ring protection, the only way for AV programs to work (besides Microsoft Security Essentials) is to become viruses themselves.

What they do is hook into the same places a virus would, and act as a virus holding the ground. So if another virus comes along, they are already there to stop it. The problem with this is that the hit on performance these programs do is essentially the same, if not worse than what the viruses would do.
