dude. get with the times. it's called evolving. Metal isn't just "metal" anymore. now you have your sub-genre's. deathcore, metal, grindcore, heavy metal, etc. and i listen to some artist that either make or break the genre but i wouldn't call anything nowadays that's metal "emo". that's just plain ignorance. is My Chemical Romance metal. Hell no. so don't lump them into the same category as bands like Demon Hunter or any of your favorites. you disgrace the whole genre and it's sub-categories. just like there are new actors rising up over the years there will be different types of music. get used to it dude.

not trying to attack you but more of a wakeup call.

I get what you are saying but it just isn't really metal anymore. When you slow it down and start singing about feelings and stuff it is not metal. Hard rock maybe, but not metal. While I'm not a fan of BFMV (early stuff anyways, I am actually liking the Temper Temper song) I do dig a bit of AX7 now and then but it does not feel at all like metal but rather a new form of rock. I feel like the whole industry in general is moving away from the whole "metal" mentality and returning to the rock'n'roll style.

you listen to Machine Head? they are about as Metal as you can get. some Demon Hunter as well. they retain some of the original stuff i believe.

this is the metal i grew up with anyway.

Yeah that stuff is better. Machine Head is pretty good I've heard them before. The Demon Hunter song was going great until he hit that slower soft part it kinda lost it a bit. I'm not crazy about when a band has a song that is going dark and hard and then they just drop it off like that. Other than that it was going pretty well and......HOLY @#$% THAT DRUMMER IS HUGE!!!!!!!!

yeah. that particular song is like that and i didn't like it either but they are really good overall. been listening to Demon hunter since the month they started as a band. Their first drummer used to be super skinny. :P that's the only person that has changed in their lineup since they've started.

that brings me to another topic. i don't like it when bands keep switching members. makes it harder to relate to them. I think it's mostly the fault of the record company though. trying to get who they think the people will like more or who will do the part better or who is cheaper. i don't know but that's what comes to mind.
