Weapon styles for future installments.

at this point, the only weapon styles (discluding redundant weapons and exotic/magical styles ala Algol/Necrid) that really need to be included are unarmed/gauntlet style and flails.

Though to be honest I would love it if they included a musket/bayonet using character. As the poster above mentioned, there would be no more than one or two attacks that involved actually firing the weapon. It would primarily be a melee weapon (stabbing thrusts, slashes and hitting people with the butt of the rifle). There would be one or two firing attacks, ala cervantes unblockable and possibly an upwards shot to knock people out of the air.

Then both throw animations would involve firing the gun, just so it wouldn't seem odd that almost nothing the guy did would cause the gun to fire, heh.

I know a lot of people are anti-gun but if it's used, from a mechanics standpoint, primarily as a melee weapon I don't see the issue and I think it'd add some flavor to the game.

See its a good idea! lol haha :D
Giant bow would be prefered, but musket and bayonette would be cool too. And also it doesnt have to be a girl Ina was just my inspiration. Go SW!

Done properly, I think a musket/bayonet character would be an interesting addition. On the topic of Samurai Warriors, remember Magoichi?

He had bullet attacks, but the majority of his attacks were melee with the attached bayonet, or kicks.

I think it'd be cool to see a girl like Kai from Heavenly Sword...

...but with a musket/bayonet. She could have alot of evasive moves (rolls, slides), disorienting attack throws (hop overs, spin arounds), and counter attacks. A character who relies on quickness and misdirection rather than strength. She would have her slashes, stabs, blunt end hits, and kicks, but she could still shoot her gun. For that, I think a "buffer" move would help to balance things a bit. A reload move that would make her a bit more reliant on her misdirection moves, and keep her from just shooting the whole time. It would also be a new and unique game mechanic.
And for story, she could be related to the Tanegashima-weilding rifleman who gave Mitsurugi that nasty scar. Or even part of the Saika clan -a Japanese family known for their rifle skills at that time...
