Now Sleep Forever
ID, you've obviously been playing Dragon Age on the PS3/Xbox, I can say that much. This game is a PC game first and foremost, and was put on consoles more for the fact that consoles have become a good market for bioware (Mass effect and all) at max graphical settings, it's a gorgeous game. Calling it PS2 era is far beyond silly.
Also, this battle system is meant to be played on the PC more than it is the PS3/Xbox, as much of it is more tactical pause and play. While on the PS3, it plays more like FF12 and a really bad FF12 with a shoddy pausing system. Tactics need to be set up perfectly in the console versions to get your companions to do what you want them to, I'll agree there.
Framerate drops happen in the console, I think most people knew that'd happen.
Choice has a huge effect in most cases, and you generally see that at the end of the game.
As far as level design in DA, I might have agreed with you were it not for the fact that the whole thing is rather varying. Where you got repeditive from, I'm not sure.
While in DS, sure you run the risk of someone invading your world, but not during a boss battle. Generally, enemy players don't stand a chance against your group of 3 unless you've taken on some terrible teammates. While world tendency was something new, I didn't feel like it was a huge gamechanger at all. Level design pretty much a cluster of gothic settings thrown into a game. Honestly, I wouldn't call it very exciting either. I never was really impressed with any of the levels, and yes, I was paying attention to the game.
As far as weapons in DS, you're wrong. There are "best" weapons, which you gain through certain boss souls and upgrades. There's a "best" for every weapon, there are even mage talismans/catalysts that give obvious bonuses over others. Don't know where you came up with that one.
