Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

I don't agree with the air Theory. Zero now has Raikousen instant cancel medium command air dash to instantly follow his lightning bolt to charge in. Super jumps to close are met with heavy raikousen cancel. Nobody is using these right now but from what i have experienced in tourney's lots of the characters you name do get beaten by insta lightning cancels. Its basically a horizontal long range attack in mid air that you can follow with what you want. Like i said i really like the dash since you dash behind the lightning instead of in front of it. Anyway IMO there is no really good zero right now. Everybody is obsessed with damage and all but iv'e yet to see Zero's with really crafty mix ups. At least i think mine are more on point then what i'm seeing right now.
Watch for Soraky. He may not think it to the same degree, but his Zero is phenomenal. If he gets his other 2 characters down and a few match ups, he'll be a real threat at EVO. I'mma go out on a limb and say Soraky is better than Marn's Zero in a 1 on 1 based on what I've seen in person. There might be live streams of him at our local tournaments. His big thing is to create a pressure series involving multiple cross ups in the corner, then after his combo he snaps you out and forces the new character to endure the same pressure, rinse and repeat. It's stupid hard to block all that.

But I agree. I've seen a lot of Zero's and not a lot of results. As good as he is, I feel people try to use him as a tier crutch like Wolverine for vanilla, but you can't. Zero has some derpy stuff, but it takes skill to put it all together once your opponent stops getting destroyed by j.C.

Isn't that the case for pretty much every character though? Just derp your way in and when something easier comes along hop on that bandwagon.

No. Sure a better player will take it farther, but different characters will have have a different spread of results of a bandwagoner and a devoted player. C. Viper is amazing ,but you can't just bandwagon her. Magneto and Doom are also characters people try to derp with and won't get far since they drop combos all day long and dont know what to do when people start blocking basic set ups. Wolverine, vanilla Phoenix, and Wesker on the other hand...you can kinda just fuck around and get away with bullshit. I know this because I used Wolverine last EVO as a crutch last year and while it became obvious I had not mastered the character to the degree others had, he still netted me some derpy kills. I hate to say my Akuma is the same way. I want my Akuma to be really good, but all I'm good at is abusing his assist and baiting people into X-factor hypers...and it works.

I feel with Zero tho, bandwagoners aren't getting results. At a certain level of play, a subpar Zero won't cut it. He is a glass canon and they'll often die to over confidence in their priority or doing cross ups at bad times. Zero's stupid, but if you can't control the stupid, he can wind up killing himself. Also most people aren't getting great rewards when they do land a hit. This is why I use Wolverine to compare. Wolverine was very easy to set up and did huge damage of very easy hit confirms and combos for very little effort.
