Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

Super Skrull is buffed. He can now teleport slam in air and air Xfactor is a big buff for him as well. His lvl 3 now tracks so no more aiming it and whiffing. He had other notes but I don't think he got any nerfs.

If you need help seriously get the guide. It is the best thing ever written and is 100% legit for high level play.

I'm starting to get the coon worked out. Need to play with relaunch inconsistencies though. I didn't want to think of him as purely about teleport/assist set ups and figured he'd be zoning but what I'm realizing is he is a mix up pressure machine. Assist/teleport, if they block drop a mine or go for instant overhead/low. They have to block a teleport cross up AND a safe instant 50/50! He's all about setting up mix ups but can harass with his projectiles to cover space, but can't depend on them for damage. No reason not to run a beam/projectile assist with him. I'm thinkin dante jam session too.

Hawkeye on the other hand is a chip GOD! Awkward playing with him cuz I get thrown off he doesn't fire like Taskmaster in the air, but this character has mad potential. I like that even though he can be spammed, there's a fair amount of execution to make him dangerous. Just not sure who to pair him with. Seems the goal is to keep them out and down to endure chip abuse into fullscreen hit confirms. I don't see him as point and I'm not sure how good he'll anchor (tho x-factor chip may fully validate this). My big fear is simply just whiffing with this guy, I feel a need to have a GTFO assist on hand.

Any suggestions on teams for these guys?
 
So ya i was on Ultimate all weekend and then won my GS tournament because Dante hasn't changed all that much and all i needed was him and any two new characters to win.

However i was never a Strider fan but his Vajra assist is godlike, and even better it's a hard knockdown when he hits in the air and with Dante that's just a teleport away from hella meter/damage. Made for each other? I sure think so.

Vergil is good, long as combos and hilarious resets....

Nova.... not that great, gonna take work but everything is unsafe as shit. However he's too cool for me NOT to try and play.

Hawkeye i enjoyed very much, he looks to have potential and is fun to play. Poison arrow assist in the middle of Dante combos is hilarious too.
 
Already have the guide (well, for the first MvC3) and it is very helpful. I just can't deal with rushdown in marvel. characters like wolverine/zero are hitting me with like 3 mixups per second and if I guess one wrong, there goes a character.

I can understand objectively what I should be doing, but putting it into practice has proved impractical so far. Not sure if I even enjoy the game enough to bother trying to get better.
 
Gotta say, i find UMvC3 much harder then MvC3, i think in MvC3 i had 400 wins online vs 100 loses in that area, and it's not turning out that way this time so far lol.

I personally don't care about winning, but when i get defeated by a person with 20 loses and 0 wins, something is very wrong with me and the way i play.

Any of you got any tips? Also how do i break out of an air-combo be dealt to me? i see others break out of my air combo, i use to know how to do this but now i forget.

So far Wesker my main is now meant for Advanced players it seems, i can't remember all those ridiculous command inputs and so quickly lol.

Ghost Rider and Strider have both saved my butt due to my Fail as being a wesker player. oh well, at any rate, yay for street fighter alpha chun li ALT and Casual Morrigan gamestop bonuses. :D
 
Yeah some characters can be a pain to learn to defend. Zero for me was particularly hard to overcome but you learn you have to fight them in a specific manner. With Zero you generally want to completely get free of pressure before trying to turn the scenario and you have to be patient, try to counter hit and you risk getting combo'd. Sometimes you can solve this by building teams to defeat this. If zero is an issue invest in a GTFO assist to scare him from rushing down. But all in all you have to find out how to not give them a way to start pressure. For zero keep above him, he has so little life chipping him and poking is completely valid. New wolverine I dunno, but in vanilla yeah he was derp mix ups all day.

Be glad tho wolv got nerfed and Zero got j.H nerfed which is a big deal.

And hell if you hate the game for that Heros and Heralds soon! Casual or not that mode looks stupid fun.
