Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

So far I haven't had any problems with lag. And turning on fight requests makes it easier to find matches. It did take a while for me to find one when searching manually, but that could be due to people still waiting to get the game and the time of the day that I was playing.

If anyone wants to play, hit me up. Don't expect too much because this game is ass. I having fun right now though. I just hope that I get more playtime from this game than I did with Street Fighter and Tekken.

I'm almost positive the rank searching is broken. I have yet to find anyone using that, it always fails. I smell a patch to fix this, and hopefully add spectator mode in March.

I'm going Megaman X, Mystique (am i the only one thinking she would be awesome?) or Carnage

I also voted for Mega Man X, Juri Han, Thanos. Psylocke, Legion, Ms. Marvel, Jedah.

I dunno, what can Mystique do besides morphing into another character? Kinda like a Shang Tsung.

and Lobo you're filter "simple mode" argument...you are aware of the serious nerf that causes right? If you're really at a point where you can't beat simple mode with normal mode...then you need to learn OR you need to be using it as well. I played a simple mode and got beat the 1st time, but then i realized they didnt have a ton of tools and just abused the fact i knew some of the limitations, especially with they're normals. Just advancing guard, dive in, done.

you 100% missed the point. first of all, i will absolutely not use simple mode. why on earth would i spend time learning the game completely wrong? even suggesting it is flat out insulting and shows right away that you and i are going into this with completely different mindsets. it is the difference between "i want to win online" and "i want to get good."

saying "you need to learn" is also bullshit. of course i need to learn. i need to learn with other people on the same footing. imagine if you could set a button to ivy iCS, the catch being that she could no longer SS, and play ranked matches. i could tell you all day, "well if you know it is coming then break a every time, scrub, or else just use it yourself." yeah, that would be awesome... :/

that is bullshit and you know it. i'm sure you would not regret all the time you spent learning iCS if i could suddenly come to the game brand new and do it with one hand blindfolded. there is absolutely not one redeeming factor to belittling players' efforts to learn the game.

i'm not opposed to simple mode as a means to entice scrubs, but let them play each other, or at least let me ban it in hosted rooms/ranked matches. i strongly disagree that it actually brings more players. going back to iCS...how many people would have just ragequit sc4 rather than learn to deal with it? eliminating the learning curve in a fighting game is fucking stupid. as it stands, experienced players laugh it off and deal with it, supreme scrubby noobs use it with ear to ear grins, and the people who are hurt by it are those like myself...people starting from square one and actually trying to learn the game. i don't think you have any idea how shitty it feels to lose to someone who doesn't even know what a quarter-circle forward is just because i don't know which moves are punishable yet and with what. sure, eventually i'll learn to shut it down, but why am i forced to be subjected to learn in an environment where i have to begin with a massive disadvantage? and yes, as someone trying to learn the basics of the game from scratch, it is a MASSIVE disadvantage.

finally, how on earth would that be a nerf? at the end of the day, the more skilled player should win, and that should apply to beginners as well. separating lazy ass scrubs from determined and focused scrubs is not a nerf, it is common sense.

Lobo, while I agree with your sentiment, Capcom's hands are tied here.

Let's say that for the sake of this argument, Capcom wanted to implement simple mode to entice players to buy the game. Whether or not it's actually effective is not the issue - let's just say that were their motives (ie: more profit).

If they implement a simple mode filter, then what is Capcom essentially saying to those who use simple mode? "You can't join a regular match because you're using simple mode?" or "Simple mode is great, but to play most players online you're going to have to use regular?" Even better: "simple mode are only for noobs and can't play in certain rooms?" That essentially beats the point of implementing simple mode in the first place - which is to entice newbies to play.

Again, I fully agree with your reasoning. It's more that I think that logic gives way to profits for this one.
