The photo was taken by Denjetsu, who apparently snapped it while reading an article that has an interview with Ryota Niitsuma, MvC3's producer. Here are a few other points he went on to add from the supposed write up.

The interview is from the same guy who gave the image. He probably just made it up since its practically a copy paste of another interveiw except for the Surfer part.(according to SRK) If this article that he got it from was real it would have been released by now considering it was supposed to be a magazine article..
