Trance Music Thread

Just because it got more into the "Mainstream" doesnt mean the Music got better. We've seen this Cycle repeat itself in just about every Genre (and sub genre) of Music.

I blame it all on the Vocal Trance Cheese. Yea Vocals are good, but they should never compromise the "Trance" of the song, which has been happening for years now. Which is why everyones loves Gareths Sanctuary, or anything Armins put out recently.

Its become a Karaoke Fest, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE TRANCE?!?!

And yea Electro is big right now, for that past 3 years at least, good music, Evolving and Progressive, but not deep like a good Trance song.

I could go on.

Electric Daisy Carnival and I want to go so bad.. it's literally ten minuets down the road from my house!!

So here's a little scenario of a black child growing up in the hood who has an appreciation for all good music in all it's forms, and then gets ridiculed for it.

*1999, Listening to Darude's album "Before The Storm" in my walkman*

Me: Do, do do do do! Do, do do do do, do, do do do do, do, do do do do!

Friend: Nigga, da fuck you "do"ing at me for?

Me: Dawg, I just coped this new ish! Shit's hot! *Lets friend listen*

Friend: Mawfucka!? Dis shit's whack! Fuck is you on, some meth shit? Shit's gay... Nerd ass listening to all this gay Star Trek music

Me: O.o ?

*Fastforward 2010*

Friend: All the things I knew right now, if I only knew back then! THen! THen! Bew-du-pip! Bew-du bew-du! Bew-du-pip!

Me: What you listening to?

Friend: Dj Aoki trance Remix of dat David Guetta and Black Eyed Peas. Shit's hot!

Me: Naw, man... Dj Aoki sold out hard, just like B.E.P. I hate that fake Hip-hop/electro-trance BS they play on the radio. Way better back in the day. Sides, I remember you saying this shit was gay...

Friend: Nigga I've been on dat electronic club shit forever! Fuck you talking 'bout?

Me: O.o ? *SMH*

Point is, I agree that, like most other genre's such as Rap, Rock, Pop, and R&B, Trance was better back in the day. Don't get me wrong, their are still good artist today but unfortunately Dance and Electronic music, and some of their sister genres have made it to the radio and got ruined. :\ But yeah, I always like Chew Fu's remixes. Long time fan of his. And Planit (SP?) B for the remixes they did to KH's themes. I still find my self driving around at 2 in the morning listening to Darude. But I really don't know Trance artist/producers of today like I used to. I shifted to Combrichrist and they goth-tronic, elctro-core, whatever you call it. :/

I'm with Lobo on this one, after early 2003 is when Trance blew up for at least NY. That just about when the scene was finally large enough to have GREAT parties and hard-hitting Trance music that rocked dance floors.
