thoughts on new update

Almost nothing from VB3 works with VB4 anymore. VB3 (up to 3.6) were made by Jelsoft and Kier Darby and Mike Sullivan's team. But a few years back vBulletin was purchased by Internet Brands, since then pretty much the ENTIRE Jelsoft team has left vBulletin. The Internet Brands owned vBulletin is what has let to the massive decline in quality in vBulletin for the past few years.

Thankfully, Kier Darby and Mike Sullivan have put a new team together and they are working on new software called "XenForo". From what I've seen, it looks completely bad ass.

Imo it's like upgrading from windows xp to windows vista......

......which in my opinion is a downgrade.

I like the old set up better.

well, we gotta keep in mind that it is still a work in progress. if you notice in just one day there have been numerous changes to the front page. also, it is so whitewashed and blank simply because as of right now we have no functional skins for it, which there is a contest currently in place to produce. it is going to take a couple weeks for people to get the art and backgrounds completed. this VB really is lots more functional and manageable.

just bear with the change and you'll grow to like it as you get used to some of the perks and shortcuts now available, and as some of the bugs and kinks get ironed out.

Are you going to be moving 8WR to that eventually? It looks pretty impressive. And I'm sure it's probably way easier to work with for skinning than vB4. Also I dislike vB4. Lol.
