The Weight Loss Thread

Well, a report.

I'm down to 223.5 from 228 from the first time I posted. I started muscle training 3 days a week since I first posted here. Yesterdays muscle training was helping a friend move, carrying boxes/moving furniture for about 3 hours. Today I just got done with a double loop of Mt. Watatic- 8.4 miles; and I swam across the local pond.. dunno how big it is, but it took me about an hour. My diet has been the biggest problem- in addition to eating healthy and keeping my calorie count down, my high blood pressure makes it so I have to watch my sodium and cholesterol like a hawk. Any tips on dealing with that kind of stuff?

Do a lot of reading and consult a doctor before starting. That's the best route. Given the BP, it'd be best to be professionally informed.

Yo, I have straight up over eaten both yesterday and today. Counted up I had 1,956 yesterday and today I had roughly 1,936+. May not seem like much but so I don't have to overwork myself fitness wise, I gotta stick to the diet. Now, my BMR is, something like, 1,807-1,898 and my daily calories to maintain weight is 2,277, so given that, I think I'm okay. I just gotta push harder the next 3 days.

So I did some hiking-prep today. Did two full loops of Mt. Watatic trying to jog it the entire time... so fucking brutal. 8.4 miles. Gonna repeat daily as weather permits.

Ate veggies mostly today with grilled chicken for dinner for my protein requirement. My doc told me I should be ingesting about 66% of daily recommended sodium and cholesterol values, and take asprin as a blood thinner; but otherwise I was cleared to exercise. This nudges me even further into my already mostly vegetarian diet. Veggies help me save on calories without overdoing it on the sodium.
