Yeah, like Jay said, they added this new system in the game where they will simply award you a random weapon at given intervals whilst you play. You could even get duplicates of ones you've already received. Or you can get nothing at all when the interval comes, which happens most frequently. Now, you can still unlock them via the achievements, but this system was added because some people bitched about being forced to grind out 'chievos for loadouts.
but besides the weapons, you have about a .025% chance of instead of getting a weapon, receiving one of the new super sweet hats.
