The Synraii is trying to give up smoking thread.

a friend's friend said he use to smoke 2 packs a day...
he finally quit because his girlfriend hated ppl that smoke... and also he was having health issues.

he was on the Gum... and he was a music major so he worked on that as well to help out the cravings.

now he tells me he'll only have a smoke once or twice a week.

I know I'm really late to replying to this but hopefully it can help someone who is struggling with quitting. I smoked heavily for over 15 years. To the point that I thought I was doing good just smoking a pack a day. At my peak I was doing 5 packs. The thing I learned is you have to really want to quit. And that it's a process for some people it's not that long for me it took a year. I was laying down one night falling asleep and for some reason while half asleep I lit a cigarette and was barely able to finish it before passing out. When I went to put it out though the thought occurred to me that this was a stupid fucking habit, I hated it, it always made me feel sick, and it was definitely killing me like it killed my father. So I was like fuck this, I wanna quit. That implanted that seed in my mind and I just worked on mentally preparing myself on quitting and what I was going to have to do to quit. I looked at all the options like the gum and patch and all that and figured that wouldn't work for me. Then I took the e-cig route and researched for what I thought I would need. I finally found one online that I thought would work and I can happily say I've been off cigarettes for 4 months now. With the exception of a couple of weeks ago when I broke my damn thingy and had to wait for the new one to get in. But I can say in that weeks time I probably went through only a pack which disgusted me but I needed my nicotine. I'm now working on weaning myself off of that also but like I said I believe it's a process and I'll get to it in due time. What I personally have is the lavatube which hits hard as fuck and really gives the sensation that you hit a cigarette. The taste is off but you get used to it after awhile and they have different flavoring liquids (which I recommend over the cartridges as it gives you more control) that you can mix and match and overall make it more enjoyable which will help keep you off the real thing. Please believe me when I say it was the hardest thing I had to do and many in this very community will tell you I was a fucking train when it came to these cigarettes so I really think this is the route to go as long as you're in the mindset of you want to quit and you won't except anymore excuses that us addicts all inevitably make for ourselves.
