The New MMA Thread

I can't see either side of the Fedor camp/UFC contract feud giving in. Both sides are just too proud for either to budge. Look for one of the up and comers like Carwin to fight Lesnar next. Saw an article where Carwin was unhappy with Brock's attitude, and said people on the way out of the venue were all asking him to kick Lesnar's ass lol.

So there's motive, there's two huge guys who can't even find gloves to fit their giant fucking hamhock fists, and there's a real conflict of personalities. Look for Lesnar v Carwin well before we see Lesnar v Fedor. After Fedor beats Barnett, I'm pretty sure he'll be off to fight Overeem before the UFC is able to get him.

the fight is too lucrative for everyone involved for it to not happen, money > pride. also dana changed his tune on fedor at the ufc 100 post-fight press conference, saying that he'd get fedor and make fedor vs lesnar happen in the ufc, period. he's not talking shit about fedor anymore either. as soon as fedor beats barnett, he'll fly to vegas, meet with dana and lorenzo fertitta in person, and sign with the ufc. everyone has a price

I remember reports where it was saying that Fedor's agent was asking for 2 million a fight. I think if that was just the case Dana could probably talk it down to a million with incentives. But I don't think that is all they will ask for. They will want a co-promotion and if I remember right M-1 is now affiliated with Affliction. This is what they've been working on. Anyone who can co-promote with the UFC will have a strong future. This will bust the doors wide open as far as saying that the UFC now has competition. I don't Dana will stand for that and I'm pretty sure thats what those Russians are looking for. As I said before, I just don't see it happening.

Same thing Fertitta was saying, they can work something out with the Sambo championships, but they're not going to co-promote with another organization. That part is non-negotiable to them, and until they budge on that (which I don't think they will) there won't be any Fedor in the UFC. I'm pretty sure they're just gonna keep trying to make UFC look like the bad guys by demanding that they co-promote with M-1.

And people fall for that shit. I'm no nut jocker but don't people realize that the only reason the sport is where it's at now at where it is going to be 5 years from now is the UFC putting out a good quality consistent product. When I watch MMA Live on HDnet and see Kenny Rice trying to instigate shit I just wanna do a Henderson on him.

One more thing...what most people don't realize is that Dana tried the whole co-promoting thing with Pride to get the Liddell/W.Silva fight. They even had Wandy in the Octagon to promote the next Pride event that was taking place in Vegas. Once that happened and the Pride guys got their exposure, they pulled out and fucked everybody out of watching the 2 LHWs in their prime fight. I ain't got no hate for Dana after that. Why help the other business when you can do it on your own?
