Suphy. You're a fascist. So, I'm not really very fond of you at the moment. An idea or belief that can't stand the rigors of debate isn't a worthwhile idea period. You prove it with your heavy handed censorship of valid questions and conversation. I was enjoying the whole fucking thing and learning a lot even though agreeing little to none. The second you brought your unfair and nonobjective authority in and waved it around to censor and intimidate you became a fascist. Fuck you, and fuck anyone of any faith that wants to post in a public forum without any dissent. You want to only hear like minded opinions? Go to a Christian only forum! Last I checked, 8wayrun isn't a Christian only forum. There's all sorts of people here. And now we can add a fascist mod to the list.

While Mibu's lack of tact is unfortunate, he does raise a reasonable point. Openly admitting to and very clearly showing bias is...well, bad for any sort of authority. Of course both of these threads were made to troll, but that doesn't mean nothing useful can come of them. Promoting trolling and feuding over nothing is in very poor taste, I'd say.

These discussions are never productive IMO. I am participating because it's entertaining to a degree...but I think we've reached a climax.

This discussion simply comes down to this. You either believe the universe is deterministic or you believe it's random. Random in it's truest sense. Where we state that the big bang is a random event because anything before it isn't governed by natural law. With that you attempt to escape the need for a God source.
If you believe the universe is deterministic but you're atheists. Then you're arguing whether or not the source of the Universe is an intelligent one.

I think it's deeper than that. Toe the line of the majority or shut up. Try to have a frank and honest discussion and get chastised or officially sanctioned. I'm an ass hole for how I sum up the stories that are the basis of Christianity. It's my fault that Christ is his own Father who came to Earth as his own son through a virgin womb sounds stupid. Not the religions fault.

Now, to assume there are only two valid options - the Universe was designed, or the Universe was a random event is narrow minded.
