I don't get the need to believe in a God except fear of the afterlife or institutionalisation
This world is amazing - the complexity of a human, the ideals and concepts of beauty and all the everyday miracles we take for granted, not to mention that this may all be a result of a long chain of coincidences. Why would we devalue these things by evoking the mystical? I believe in things that I'm able to experience; chemicals, gravity 'n' shit.
Knowing that maybe "this is it" is in no way disappointing. Why does it make any more sense to think that someone or something beyond our comprehension created all matter than it does to accept that it's just here, and it should be appreciated as it is, in all its real, comprehensible beauty?
...I think what I'm trying to say is shut up and appreciate chemicals, gravity 'n' shit.
