Quick question gays, I was wondering your opinion on this?

I recently saw a video talking about SCVI roster reveals. In the video, it explains the usual list of characters expected to return. Among them is Maxi, only he's expected to be revealed as openly homosexual.

For the record, I've had a head canon since early teens that Maxi was gay and this was backed up by his story. He hates Astaroth as much as he does because he killed his whole pirate crew; among them was his lover.

Anyway, reading the comments people were being so bitter bout it despite it probably not changing anything about his character. They never mention/inply his sexuality throughout the series so I think this is a nice touch to have some canon rep.

Yeah I think it's nice to have some gay characters in canon. People are always ridiculous about this sort of thing. Since they're mainly young and technology-literate you'd think gamers would be reasonably egalitarian on average but they seem to be one of the most toxic and bigoted groups on the planet. In any case they'll announce it eventually, so the way I see it is we don't just get the benefit of having a canon gay character, we also get the added pleasure of spite.

What are all you gays playing right now? I got gifted a copy of Star Wars Battlefront 2 with no receipt so I've been playing that and I've been pleasantly surprised by how fun it is. I'm probably gonna pick up the re-release of Dragon's Dogma soon, too.

Well I hadn't been playing much vidya for about two years now...but my brother just got me into Warhammer: Total War, just in time to fuck up my third year of uni! Yay!

I'm all for the inclusion of canon gay characters. I would prefer brand new queer characters rather than changing existing ones to sort of fill a quota but so little is known about most characters' romantic and sexual preferences that it doesn't really matter (besides Sophitia/Rothion and X/Kilik is anyone even in a canon relationship?). Either way, I always felt like Maxi had some clear gay-coded design aspects but not much else to indicate he was in fact One Of Us. If anyone was gonna be gay I expected Patroklos, honestly.

Honestly same with Patroklos and I can't explain why?? But honestly I wouldn't have much of a problem with PS doing something as little as adding their interests in their character profiles. Why not ya know?

EDIT: I got it malfested is coding for homosexuality and he couldn't accept Pyrrha's ways at first cuz he's closeted. Soul Edge is gay culture.

I thought Patroklos would be gay bc he just looks like a blond Greek twink and Graf Dumas was his sugar daddy. Plus u know, Patroclus and Achilles had a lil somethin somethin going on, and Pat was named after him.

I want new queer characters, and definitely I want at least one that can use both male and female CAS parts. Non binary ftw.
