So I almost got stabbed by a homophobe who expressed his desire for my death. I defended myself through fear and reflexes with a work tool from my job and because he was injured and I wasn't, I was arrested and was in jail for 12 days. Had to pay 1200 to get out. I lost the room i was renting which is fine. But my job not only fired me knowing all the details and circumstances but actually blacklisted me from being hired at any other 7/eleven.

Dude, what the hell?
I mean, of course I'm glad you weren't hurt at all, but jail time? What was the police's reasoning for that? Surely it's self defence?
