Some law passed in a hillbilly ass state basically saying "School children can bully another child if it relates to their religion", and I see only three real things that can be used as "religious" bullying, and that's christianity on gays, christianity on non-creationists, and hinduism on eating cows, but hindu's keep it to themselves and order the chicken sandwich instead.
It's a bullshit way to try and basically bring down gays, and probably get some of the younger ones to "turn straight" or even kill themselves, since people who would want to pass that kind of law more than likely had reducing the gay population in whatever way possible. And the shit thing about it is that it protects bullying under religious reasons if they claim it. It's not just the gay community that can get hit by it with how it's worded, and is that it's not just in school. I wouldn't be surprised if, with how they have it, it wouldn't even be limited to schools and hate crimes would be protected because of it.
It would also give rights for people to be bullied for not being a part of their religion, which here in dandy ol' America is almost always Christianity or it's branches. I was bullied hardcore in elementary school because when approached, I said I didn't believe in god, and of course shit spreads and because of it I never left my house until late 8th grade, but hey it's for religious freedom right? Technically it would give muslims, hindu's, jews, ect. permission to bully people and be perfectly safe from any punishment because the person doesn't agree with their views or relates to them, which as I said before it's almost always christians anyways that pull that kind of crap.
On top of all of that, the man who put this bill up in the first place is such a douche. He actually went to the effort to spread transphobic ads across the state (which I just read is tennesse) and speaks out against any kind of pro-gay anything. On top of that, with this bill being thrown around, Tennessee is considering an old bill which got show down again, basically saying that in a school environment (high school too), gay doesn't exist. There's no men that like men or women that like women, or men that feel like they should have been a woman or men that like men and women. You could be in a health class learning about hormones, or a psychology class studying any psychological reasons people's sexuality is what it is, or an english class reading about a gay author, but o nop too bad homo no real lollllllllllllllllllll
TL;DR it's a bullshit bill in a bullshit state and I'm angry because of it.
