I know I could tell you that we're all here for you, for whatever small compensation that would offer, but it's not the most pragmatic solution.
Without trying to sound brusque or dismissive somehow, have you given a thought to online dating? I know it has some stigma attached to it but, honestly, it might be worth something? Even just to find some new friends that share interests your current ones do not?

I do have Skype. Hoooooooweveeeeeer... I don't have a webcam and my aforementioned lady friend won't stop hounding me about it.

I think it's become a more acceptable thing as modern lifestyles have evolved - People don't always get the time to go out and meet new people, but with websites you can essentially pick and choose and get to know people. Sure there are some people just looking for NSA and 1NS, but there're plenty of people in the same boat as you so, worth a shot eh? It's only seedy if you make it seedy.

Also, webcams, who even needs those?
