So im thinking about doing a crossplay variation of Viola. Any thoughts on that?

That really depends. For a Viola you gotta be petite enough and have legs.

Well, I think I have the legs for it. I'm 5'7 so im not too tall, my biggest concerned is her exposed shoulders. I know her cloak drapes over them, but im not sure if I can pull it off haha.

The shoulders shouldn't be too much of a problem for you. Like you said, her cloak covers them anyways, so you should be fine.
I'm actually considering crossplaying myself. Not as any Soul Calibur character, but as Red Riding Hood from Once Upon a Time. I'm still debating whether I should or not lol.
