Just don't completely burn your bridges. I had a sort of similar situation earlier this year, but with friends and stuff. If it's any indication as to what happened, I've spent like seventy percent of my time at home this summer. In my room. Furiously tumbling.

My advice to you:
If it's not too late, just hang out with Mr. Jailbait (sorry, I had to) before making any major decisions.
