Keeping with the present rant topic though, I do consider myself fortunate that I live in an area where opinion on homosexuality is closer to neutral than negative, and I'm certainly not feeling pressed to seek safer or more welcoming grounds. Then again, I'm generally pretty quiet about my orientation: in fact I'm almost certain that a few friends who I came out to a couple of years ago have completely forgotten that I'm gay. Go figure.
