Teh Gheys Thread

Being single sucks, I want a boyfriend. :(

You know, I've noticed that when people are single they tend to say things like this, and that all their friends are in relationships and they feel like they're missing out, etc.

But when people are in a relationship, they generally say things like, "My single friends are having so much fun going out and meeting people and I never get to..." etc.

I don't get it. I'm generally pretty happy whether single or dating. o_o

People tend to forget there's both pros and cons to both situations. Greener grass argument, I suppose. I do wonder if I'll be able to change my living conditions enough to make having a relationship an actual possibility in the not-to-distant future though, just because. Being 22 isn't a horrible age to not have had any form of relationship whatsoever, but I can't help but wonder about the future as time goes on regardless.

Ideally none of these will have been posted before.

I realize that, I've just never understood greener grass arguments. However, to the second point - that's a perfectly rational way of looking at it. People desire relationships for different reasons. "Being single sucks," is a blanket statement that disregards the benefits of being single; something like that, I don't get. "I want a relationship" is a completely different thing. =]
