On the topic of Lady Gaga, how does everyone feel about her? A lot of people in the gay community have basically condemned her recently?? Not for anything problematic (such as cultural appropriation and stuff) but literally like a sect of the gay community broke off and started calling her basic????????? Not three years ago all y'all was poppin' yo bussies to Born This Way!
I just don't understand the vitriol shot at her sometimes. She isn't bitchy and mean, she doesn't really care if she's a "flop," and she makes music that is essentially consumable regardless of whatever she says about her songs (*side-eyes ARTPOP*). I just don't get it. I understand not liking her music so much, or being kind of grossed out by her ignorance to cultural appropriation/her song Aura (the song has been debated by several Muslim fans as positive), but I think she is sincere in her efforts to make the internet and schools safer/kinder places and she really truly cares about her fans.

I find it extremely difficult to see why 'cultural appropriation' could be in any way declared a problem. It is an atrociously thought-out idea that bizarrely wraps around to support the very sentiments its proponents would claim are antithetical to them: "you stick to your culture and I'll stick to mine."

Because I don't have even this problem with Lady Gaga, I see no reason she should be condemned for anything. I have no idea why certain gay people would suddenly decide they don't like her. I continue to love and support her music, style and influence on culture.

First of all I'm feeling absolutely ancient because I had no idea that basic is now an insult.

Second, she still makes great music and at the very least she behaves like a decent human being, so about the haters I'd like to defer to my old family motto, F*** Bitches.

Third, I have never, to my knowledge, popped my bussy. I'm going to need a definition for that.
