Street Fighter 4!

You can probably tiger knee the motion. Do the quarter circle motion into upback, and hit K as soon as you leave the ground. The idea is that you have a few frames after doing the quarter circle motion to actually start the special, so you start the special motion on the ground, jump, and activate it in the air.

Tiger Kneeing BK gives you a HJC'd ground BK. It doesn't give you an instant aerial BK and if it does, the timing is weird or super strict resulting in a simple Jumping HK if you wait for her to leave the ground. Even doing 214789 doesn't give you an instant aerial BK (that's the method I use to get instant Dive Kicks with Cammy). So I've been doing 963214 to do BKs as soon as I leave the ground. I only TK the motion if I want a HJC.

Viper is turning out to be the Setsuka of SF4. With a lot of work, she can perform at high tier level. I'm thinking of picking her up and learning her. Anyone here proficient with her and can give brief details of her playstyle (is she best offensive or defensive, etc.), strength (whats her effective range, etc.), weaknesses (is she high-maintenance j/k, etc.) for starters.

I would definitely classify her as the "Setsuka" of SFIV. At the same time, C. Viper's a King of Fighters designed character that plays like a Guilty Gear character who is trapped in a Street Fighter game.

Viper is a offensive character who's main game lies in crossing up with burning kicks and using her feints to trick the opponent into fucking up or whiffing a move so you can punish them harshly (ie her double fierce combos). She's execution heavy though (I'd argue more so than Setsuka) and there is certainly a large execution barrier with her before you can achieve high level play with her.

Strengths: Her combos (when you have them down) hurt like a bitch and can stun pretty easy (due to her double fierce combos). Her distance game is pretty good as well primarily due to her Seismo Hammer aka Ground Pound. Her Thunder Knuckle move, which is used in a few of her BnBs, breaks FA armor (<3) and is safe on block.

Weakness: Below average health (although not Akuma or Seth low). She is high-maintenance too, lulz. As I mentioned before, execution is really important with her. So much so that one fuck up or missed timed move (Ultra and Super are easy examples) can easily cost you the match even if you're at 50% health (...fuckin Zangief). To add, she is also very reliant on meter as most of her best and most effective combos involve the EX version of her Seismo Hammer.

I'm still having a hard time getting used to Crimson Viper myself. Actually, I have to confess: SF4 is the first 2D fighter I've played ON A CONSOLE. I'm used to playing fighting games on the computer. Nevertheless, I'm trying to get good with Viper. After familiarizing myself with controls, I can still control Ryu, Ken, and Sagat alright.
