It's possible. As far as I know there is no restrictions on digital downloads that would make it hard to do backwards compatibility. So yes, it's much more likely that you'll need to buy this to play it on PS4 unless Sony releases a version of it with full backwards compatibility.

So basically, the digital download could be like "hey, buy this if you still want to play SCV and you can't use the disc" or something like that?

There's still no confirmation from Sony regarding backwards compatibility for digital releases, but there's no reason for it not to work. As for the DLC... we'll have to see. Not releasing the "Legendary Edition" in America is a dick move though, they probably did it because they know that's where all the big DLC money comes from.

Hey people, i know fighting and trolling is all fun and giggles until somebody loses an eye but can you stop for a moment and help me, please?
I have downloaded the legendary edition and everything works fine, i have dampierre, several cepheus packs, the collection armour BUT the content for the cepheus pack 4 (ivy, cervantes and co.suits, the skeleton suit and something else) is fucking nowhere. I downloaded the cepheus compatibility packs (all) (and obviously some of them work perfectly because i can see the items in the customizer).
Do i have to unlock it in game? (i'm rank 3 and i have not finished the campaign), were they so miserable they didn't included the good packs? (not sure, i have to watch for it but maybe the pack 4 it's not the only one i don't have), have i forgotten to do something? (when i was downloading the game i picked the dlc free packs that came with it in my download list, so it can't be that)......
