I feel some points are justified, some are not.
Regarding customization, while patterns, stickers and layering in the end serve to make options greater it's hard to look past clipping issues, disappointingly short equipment lists and the fact that much of the equipment is very ill-fitting.
Regarding gameplay I like the new stepping, and feel that throw range is all right. Perhaps I could have done without critical edge, but on the other hand I feel they bring something to the game and the cutscenes are at least not as annoying as in Mortal Kombat. I cannot name any moves in the game that feels outright and unfairly inescapable, but that is not a guarantee that there aren't any. In general however I share the feeling that it may be too easy to get long combos, and waking up without getting disadvantaged seems exceedingly hard. I may be doing something wrong and may figure it out eventually, but right now I long for the wakeup in SC4, where the round winner mostly wasn't decided by being the first player to get a knockdown.
Inputs sometimes feels fishy, it may be differences between SC4 and 5 rather than glitches. The major problem I have is doing critical edge with Nightmare. Other characters are allright, but often when attempting a CE with Nightmare I get a grim stride followed by a blank stare.
I also wish there would have been some additional work with the camera, I feel on some stages it gets kind of nauseating. I was playing Arcade Extra route a while ago, and the camera on the last stage was particularly obnoxious. It seemed to pan around randomly sometimes, then returm to a strange angle slightly below and behind the fighters, which made judging distance and reach very hard.
