I like this game.
Soul Edge was the first game I ever played in the arcades where I got to beat some d-bag twice my age and twice my size ( he was an old trucker dude ).
Then came Soul Calibur.
I loved it so much, I bought a dreamcast just for the sole purpose of playing it. The Dreamcast is dead, but the Soul still burns.
2 years later, I bought ALL the versions of SC 2 ( even if I didn't have a gamecube ). The old fat PS2 is gone, but my old xbox still lives and I still get to play some good old SC 2. Ivy buffer madness forever.
I put up with SC 3, despite the murderous AI. It had Setsuka ( The Akira Yuki of SC ) so it was worth it.
I played SC IV and almost wept when I saw the damn guest characters . But what the heck, 3 years later and I'm playing it all over again.
I almost wrecked my wife's PSP while perfecting Summon Suffering on SCBD.
I'm teaching my 6 year old daughter the finer points on how to play Cassandra and her favorite character (gasp) Yun Seong. Even if it's only on practice mode , she gets to learn 8 way run. If Pyrrah and Pat are the future of the series, then I think my own kid should start sharpening up her skills early so that when SC X comes around, she will pawn anyone who gets in her way.
What can I say, 15 years ( more than half my lifetime ) playing a series means that I like Soul Calibur.
See you around.
