• Dolphins have weirdly strong penises full of muscles that they can use like hands. In some cases, rape-y groups of “male teenage” dolphins will grab the wrist of a human swimmer—male or female—WITH SAID HAND-PENIS—and pull them under water to a “dolphin rape cave." There they take turns (because they’re polite) raping the human until they’ve had their fun. Obviously, by this point, the person will have drowned. So it appears to be kind of a sucky way to go.

This sounds like something people conjured up. If people knew where these caves were then where are the grisly photographs of the bodies? Why would they (dolphins) need to go to a cave? To keep it secret? Why? Will the dolphin police bust them if they're spotted? Are the animals too ashamed to do it in the open ocean? It's not the rape part I doubt. It's the cave part. That reeks of an urban legend. Caves are things that people find scary. Caves make a nice cover for why nobody has ever filmed it nor why bodies are never found. The cave is too convenient, especially since you don't see much regular dolphin activity in caves. This seems like a litmus test to me, to see how quick people are to assume the worst thing they hear is true. Or perhaps I should say that this rumor relies on the fact that people always assume the ugliest thing that they hear is true.
