It's not fee-for-service, the insurance companies are the ones setting the prices. Doctors tend to hate the bureaucracy just as much as the patients do.

Because I didn't have insurance (and still don't) and am billed directly, the bill is itemized. 644 dollars of that fee was going to the doctor directly. While I am certain there are good souls to be found in the medical professions I failed to see his objection anywhere on my statement.

LOL! These are the same doctors that do a half-ass a job to make tea-off ata golf tournament but want to outlaw malpractice suits right?
