The earth's magnetic field protects us from some radiation. But the amount of that protection is more or less static. It does not detect incoming radiation and kick it's EMF production up a notch. As far as I know solar flares do not cause the earth's core to churn any faster. As for your "statistic", correlation does not denote causation.You do know the day before Japan got hit Nasa recorded the biggest solar flare in history ? Have you been to Nasa's website ? We are now in the suns 12 year cycle and this time things are heating up.. Do your research!
