Shiba Inu's are awesome little dogs. My friend has two and they are really good tempered and love to play.

Although, they are notorious for not knowing their boundaries and running away. There are about 3 ads a week saying "Lost Dog: Shiba Inu" in our paper.
 
They are intelligent, so it makes sense that they would want to run from some people lol :D. All dogs need so much attention, training, and companionship in their first year especially. Most poor behavior from dogs comes from lack of time spent with them and lack of training. They then become the alpha male in the relationship instead of the human. What has held me back thus far from getting one is that I want to insure that I have the time to spend. It's critical.
 
shibas are fun dogs. i had one. but it was extremely shy of people. would always run under the bed when company was over and i swear if i didn't say there was a dog in the house, no one would have known...

YOUNG GOO!!! r.i.p little man.. you're missed.
