I can't even find the words.

Went to the Virginia Chili Cook-Off festival in Woodstock, VA yesterday and enjoyed a rather nice quality rock show. There was a slight problem though, because they had way more people sign up to attend than they had anticipated and because it was held at a piss-in-the-hole county fairgrounds in the middle of nowhere they decided for safety reasons to not allow any chili to be cooked (the big cauldrons they usually use could have been a problem with so many people I guess) and they also prohibited the sale of any alcohol. I mean you have a chili cook-off with no chili, and a rock show with no booze. Wtf. I don't really understand why they were confused about so many people showing up, just look at the set list-

(in the order they performed)
Breach The Silence
PAIN!
Rebel inc.
HYNGD
Another Lost Year
Defending Cain
Twenty12 Tribe
Silvertung
Dive
Unto Thee
Hurt
Smile Empty Soul
Taproot
Soil
Nonpoint
Dope
Saliva
Trapt
10 Years
Sevendust

Plus a whole bunch of other local and smaller bands playing on another stage a little ways away.

All those bands and the admission charge was only $10, so yeah I don't possibly see why they would have more people than they could handle at a tiny area like that. (-_-) The stage was on the inside of a gravel horse track that we were standing on, so there was a small grandstand behind us that some people were in, the majority of us were on this gravel track and then there were these two small stages pressed right up against the track. (There was no backroom on the stage so they had to prepare one stage for the next band while the previous was performing on the other stage) On top of all that it had been raining for 3 days straight and it still continued to rain all day during the festival. Everything was muddy as fuck, and being on the track meant we were standing in and jumping up and down in gravel that had turned to mud. My friend and I decided to wait until about half way through the festival to show up because of this cuz we just wanted to see the top card bands anyways so we got there in the middle of Hurt's set. Still we stood in the rain for 6 hours watching the show. The bands did everything they could to make the best out of it and they all rocked out really hard and the show itself was pretty good, especially liked when the singers of Soil and 10 Years decided to hop down and go through the crowd while singing so I got to high-five both of them. They the 10 Years guy went crowd surfing (twice) and went right over top of us. It was one of those "having-a-great-time-in-the-worst-miserable-conditions" kind of day. Had a blast with the bands but my back (I have spinal issues) was killing me at the end. Still, good times. Mostly. :/
