PSN is down again!

That's a terrible bet, you have problems if a consumer device can get trusted access to network, hacked or not. But regardless, I have never criticized Sony's technical response to the situation, or the fact that they got hacked in the first place.

All I have to say is if your company is going to wait months to do a RCA before telling me my personal data has been stolen, I'd never give your company any information, as you clearly don't know how to treat your customers. Knowing
the cause is important. Knowing your immediate priorities is even more important.

First off, I’m sorry if there was some confusion. RCA is after the incident has happened and the incident is resolved. In other words, when PSN returned for everyone, they started the RCA. So the RCA is not the investigation, it’s the aftermath of the incident for the company to learn what happened, and to know the measures to help stop it before it becomes bad. So when I talked about it before, I was referring to the resolved incident. So I'm sorry about not explaining it better.

The thing I don't understand is why; people do not understand that this process takes time. Sony had no idea of what was breached when the hack happened. They needed to know at very least what happened to be able to tell the customers anything. If they went to the public with nothing, and then told everyone what happened, after they received feedback from the investigation, the people will lose faith for the company as well. So it’s Damned if you do, and Damned if you don't.

What this means, is that it was lose / lose for Sony from the start. So they took the path that they should. They investigated and found something, that should not be accessed, was accessed. Then you have Sony telling you what happened. It was not that they sat around in a room for 2 weeks without doing anything. It was manpower, money and effort to find out what happened so that they could go to the customer and tell them that they had a breach.

The Customers are lucky that Sony found out some information in that short amount of time.

Now for this little network hip-cup, once again they need to know what happened and see if it is an issue. Otherwise we are back to people jumping to conclusions without knowing anything like the PSN hack...

Woopty doo, psn was down, rarely happens, and at least the games dont get hacked like they do on xbox. Not to mention the shit customer service microsoft give.
Small problems when you compare that to the fact that the ENTIRE PSN network was taken down. Courtesy of the Microsoft infrastruture, I know that my personal info is safe when I use it on Xbl. Why should I trust Sony now?

You see the problem? Sony have lost a lot of credibility.
