It shouldn't be backwards compatible...cuz sony will now be removing physical software, and replacing it with downloads, as seen with the psp go.
So I am guessing you will be buying all your old games again from psn as downloads.

Good thing my ps3 has BC.

Its great for tournaments however, PS3 and the go.
