I'm having trouble with the HDMI on the PS3 ..my brother un-hooked it & now it work work in HDMI

Do you need to keep the AV in the system after you chose yes?? I'm doing that, the PS3 isn't recognizing the HDMI

Turn the system off... plug in the HDMI cable and go to the HDMI channel on your TV.

Press and HOLD the power button on your PS3 for 5 seconds until you hear the SECOND set of beeps. This will reset the video settings on your console and it will search for the HDMI cable.

DO NOT HOLD UNTIL THE THIRD SET OF BEEPS. This will reset ALL settings on your console.

I'm holding it for 5 seconds..it turned on while I was holding it down. Is the normal to do that?? ... I get no picture on HDMI 4 where the PS3 is connected..Do I need the AV Cables hooked up to the PS3 also to get to the screen to selet yes or no ..I'm getting really annoyed here

When you turn your PS3 on, keep holding down the power button until you hear another beep. Should only take 5 seconds. The PS3 should then reset its video settings and find the video source.

You don't need any additional cables hooked up as long as you have the console hooked up properly on the correct video source.

If you are still having trouble, hook it up over composite/component, then go into the display settings and switch it over to HDMI. If it still doesn't work after that, then I don't know.

I just want to say that it's really stupid that the PS3 can't just search for the proper audio path on boot.

Holding power until you hear the second set of beeps should fix it.
