UBI Soft has the most annoying plan yet. You can't play Assassin's Creed on the PC without a constant internet connection. If their servers mess up, if your net service is interrupted for any reason, you're booted to a menu.

Hopefully they'll realize they could also use a similar check system to render used copies of the game useless. That would earn 'em the money they truly deserve.

That's completely different from what EA is doing which is to get more people to buy a game on 1st release.

Ubisoft is using a constant internet connection as DRM in AC2. It's just to keep pirates at bay.
