It's a shame than the fan community can't create a fan game that is purely not-for-profit. Fanfiction is allowed under fair use, but something like a fan game is not.
Perhaps some day we'll be able to sort out this mess when it comes to copyrights (and the perpetuity that the oligarch corporations wish to push, against the Constitution's insistence against it).
They could still do it, if they developed it purely for educational purposes, on top of the not-for-profit idea. As well as include original characters, stages and voice work. Alas, I doubt they have the resources to avoid the litigating arm of Hasbro.
