OmegaDR Wins Final Round 15 in Atlanta!

Here's Marvel commentary in a nutshell:

OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH!

OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH!

Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH!

OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH!

The SCV commentary was better on Saturday than it was on Sunday, but it wasn't terrible and was still informative. But people need to do less complaining and step up to the mic themselves.

QFT and lulz about Marvel.

I stepped up at Cannes and although it was far from perfect, the FR commentary was dire by comparison generally. Hype can only go so far before its just annoying as commentary and if you're going to commentate a freaking major, as Engared rightly said - have SC players do it.
DK alone would have done a significantly better job imo. =/

Just watched the entire stream. Good matches.

Way too many Leixia's and Natsu's though. Would have preferred to see more characters used, but oh well.

Omega, your the man. I'm taking a page out of your book, if you don't mind. My NM is by no means bad, but I need some work with him. I saw some interesting tactics that I think I will use myself.

I thought it was hilarious that the commentators bashed Swordlord to no end, and then he went on to beat some of the best players. It doesn't really matter if you miss combo's, don't punish properly, etc., because at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is winning or losing. Whatever his gameplay lacked, he made up for with other good qualities.

@hates.

If someone wronged you by backing out of a money match (which is pretty dishonorable, I agree), then criticize them for that only, instead of childishly and foolishly calling him "scrub", especially when you were proven very wrong immediately after you bashed him to pieces. Your better than that, right?

The commentary wasn't bad at all and it is still a work and progress. I agree with the post stating that some player background should go into it. Like when a big time player comes on hype them up. This was done to some extent but not at all extensively. Like I remember thinking no one on the stream can appreciate what a big deal Thuggish is. They don't know the half. On a Capcom stream they constantly remind you who all the major players are, their accomplishments etc.

The correct dose of humor, hype, and informative match break down must be delivered. As for American commentary on SC I really enjoyed Dreamkiller and Ramon during FSAK. Wasn't perfect but showed some real potential. Really knew how to hype up big moments and keep things entertaining even when much isn't going on.

Personal opinion shouldn't play too much of a role, most people enjoy a decent amount of objectivity.

No disrespect just my thoughts. Improvement is never a bad thing.

You kinda need a mix of both really for good commentary. FilthieRich and Bibulus would've been a good team for example, as Bibs could've laid down the information on the game, the community, and its players, while FilthieRich can make up shit like "Nightmare with that CHUCK NORRIS 9k!"

I'm a huge hoops junkie, and Hubie Brown is the best, most informative commentator for bball. But on his own, he'd be incredibly boring to listen to. You need a guy who gets hyped up over dunks like Mike Breen next to him.
