So I'm way behind on haruhi lol. The problem is...I don't remember if I'm on episode 6 or 7, and I can't tell by just skimming the episode. Don't really feel like watching either of them.

Couldn't you just skip to the end of Endless Eight? They're all pretty much the same. That's kind of the point.

Any why would you watch so much anime at once. Most anime is fucking terrible. It's not unique; most of any medium is fucking terrible, which is why people try and filter as much of the shit out as possible.

Most of anything is shit, most all TV is crap. The reason i watch anime in general is i prefer any and all generic and overly told stories in a better style (as i like the art styles) rather than LIVE or terrible american animation. I watch all anime to find gems and to learn the hard way what shit really is. Because YOU (as in anyone) can't call something shit if you haven't seen it, even if it's the general thought or you even caught PART of it.

and no on Haruhi, if you skip the endless EIGHT, you'll miss the official Kyo-Ani Endless Eight quiz which will be about specific things on each episode. I think that MAY be the actual reason they had it so long.

A quiz? Who even cares. O_o

But I still don't get it. Do you have to watch more than one episode of a show to know they're terrible? Hell, 5 minutes will do for most. And besides that, people review these things, and it's quite sensible to read a few bad reviews for a show and then avoid it. They watch the shit so you don't have to. And even if you didn't want to go by reviews, can't you read a synopsis? It's not unreasonable to avoid a show with an obviously horrible premise (or at least one you don't like). There's no reason to watch generic anime just because you like it more than generic live action. Why not cut the generic out all together?

The only people who consume that much unfiltered media are critics, and they do it because it's their job.

Whatever floats your boat, though.
