God, I have Vanilla Salt stuck in my head. My favorite Yui Horie role in a while. Throw in Kugimiya Rie and Toradora becomes automatic win.

I find geass takes alot form gundam with the whole "who is the real enemy" idea. You walk into gundam thinking zeon are the bad guys which the whole "colony drop" and what not, but you still sympathize with them. same with lelouche. especially since his best friend is fighting for his enemy.

as for the harry potter comparison

for starters, replace ninja with wizard next time you watch naruto. you'll soon see what i mean.

I think Code Geass still had enough orignality on its own to not be considered cliche =/ . But yeah, the idea has been used before.... But I don't know of any anime that I could honestly say, "I've never seen something like that" exept for maybe Full Metal Alchemist and a couple others. In my opinion CG's one of the better recent animes out there. Since its end, I still haven't found another anime that I've thought was worth following =(.

I've been watching Tytania recently and really, it's just a modern day Legend of the Galactic Heroes. I'm quite a fan of LOGH, so Tytania is really enjoyable for me. I'm still actually watching LOGH these days. I've been watching it for a couple of years now and Central Anime is still subbing LOGH.

We're currently on the 6th Chapter of Spiral Labyrinth. It's just as great as the TV series. I'm also watching Tales of the Abyss. I'm just glad it follows the game to a T. I'm glad to not see a repeat of the ToS anime, lol.

Other than that, I've also been keeping up with the second season of Junjou Romantica. Still as funny as the first season was, which is certainly good, lol. Oh, and also watching One Piece.

I just wish Instantz would hurry up and sub episode 373. Eh..oh well, lol.

Just finished My-Otome: Zwei (not bad) and my copy of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time should get to my by the end of November. I heard it was a good moive so I can't wait.
