As for Geass being boring over SAC...Geass reeked of cliché.

???

I'm not sure I understand this...how does cliché equal boring? Soulcalibur isn't boring because you have two people with over-sized swords fighting each other (see every single Final Fantasy game). What exactly about Geass did you find cliché? Because if you've seen more shows like it, I would love to know so I can watch them.

read dune, then watch some old gundams (0083 stardust memory and 08th ms team is a good place to start.) Code Geass isn't breaking any new ground. Its just got a nice layer of polish.

while i'm up on my soap box I would like to add that people should also look at naruto and read a harry potter book. I find those 2 also have alot in common.

What elements does Gudnam share with Code Geass? Does the difference go deeper than big robots fighting each other?

I'm not sure I follow on the Naruto, Harry Potter comparison. The main guy, his obligatory female friend, and his guy friend go on a quest to do good stuff. Other than the focus on growing up, I don't see much in common. There are plenty of bildungsroman stories out there.

I find geass takes alot form gundam with the whole "who is the real enemy" idea. You walk into gundam thinking zeon are the bad guys which the whole "colony drop" and what not, but you still sympathize with them. same with lelouche. especially since his best friend is fighting for his enemy.

as for the harry potter comparison

for starters, replace ninja with wizard next time you watch naruto. you'll soon see what i mean.

Whitey, I can see where you are coming from with the potter/naruto similarities. But I just have to say, Harry's boner for Ron is NOTHING compared to the boner Naruto has for Sasuke.
