@Ruko
clearly YOU dont know what an otaku is, or the funk.

Look up a literal Jap->english definition of the word, in the context of a fan (I believe the proper form of the word using a specific spelling means you own property or something). Otaku is a negative term. And in the Japenese language its hard to spin it into a positive light, its possible, but very hard and it only works in very specific context.

Since its common misconception that calling someone "otaku" is the equivalent of calling someone a geek (for anime) the word has lost its integrity in the english language, especially since calling someone a geek for most anything these days isn't necessarily bad.

Basically to be considered an otaku you need to be an extremely overly obsessive fan of the genere. And to watch lucky star and enjoy it in my opinion you really need to know your shit, and be a full blown weaboo. There is a fine line between enjoying anime and being overy obsessed. An Otaku/weaboo is the kinda person that crosses that line. I'm not calling anyone here a otaku, i'm just making an observation.

As for the "otaku funk" I dont know how many conventions you've been to but just wait till your in a smaller room or narrow hall with a few real otaku/weaboos' in it. Beleive me, it doesn't take many to make a room smell like low tide on the Hudson.

weaboo=someone that wishes that he/she was japenese. Urban dicitonary it. Think of an otaku, divide his/her knowlege in half and multiply their overspoken-ness for shitty anime by 50.

tl:dr
Being called otaku is bad and it implies you sleep with love pillows.

I'm aware of its meanign and origins, it shoudlnt be tossed about. There are very few poeple who would cassify as Otaku.

I am unaware of the funk, I dont go to conventions I'd rather spend my time actually watching anime than talking about it. Most of those convention people arent even real anime fans they watch like one series and spend the rest of their time going to conventions cosplaying and talking about it for no real reason and having silly debates about stupid characters.

But i dont think a bunch of smelly weabos should be caleld Otaku, so maybe Weabo-funk instead. I am pretty sure that not even any of those smelly peopel live in anime shrines with wall to wall anime posters and figures/dvd and other anime merchandise clutterds about their homes.
