Mushishi is the chillest anime I've ever seen. Kino's Journey is also pretty relaxed.
thanks. I just looked into the two. ARIA, mushishi, and Kino's Journey all seem to have their own atmosphere of relaxed tones. ARIA is more of a Utopia no worries type of anime. Mushishi is a character specific anime that makes you focus on the characters and their situations. Kino's Journey seems to be a following adventure/exploring anime. at least that's what I think. to me chill or relaxing anime are the type of shows you can really view the episodes out of order and it wouldn't make a significant difference because the purpose is to not let the viewer be concerned with keeping up with events. It's about just watching it and enjoying/relaxing at that time and place where you are watching the anime.

How would that be chill? It would be pointless rather than chill.

And for HOTD, it's totally necessary and how does it distract, the slow mo bullet shot through the boobs was one of the coolest scenes in any show period let alone getting to be an action sequence. HOTD forced it's TnA into it's survival so much that it's one and the same. It is the reason for it's existence and without it, well it actually wouldn't exist technically.

Pointless? Look at Azumanga Daioh and how popular that was. the closest thing to a story that show had was an occasional reference to another episode but it's still one of the most popular non-action anime out there.

As for that HOTD I can make a list of how many people either stopped watching it or lost interest(around the same thing) because of those random scenes. HOTD lost many fans because of that. Now they all turned to The Walking Dead. During anime club around when the show was out for less than a month we put it on. at first we were like WTF? to some of those scenes but we got over it and brushed it as something that only happened on a rare occasion wouldn't happen anymore. when it continued more people were loosing interest in it because they were saying it was a softcore zombie hentai. About all the girls gave up on it too and eventually we changed the show to black lagoon. I'm a critic and I know what is good and what people would go "meh" about.

Note; I started watching HOTD because it had zombies... I then fell in love with it because of the awesome ecchi scenes. Also ghost hunt is really fun, I enjoyed watching it. I think some animes got boring due to the lack of ecchi... I can understand animes like school rumble and naruto not having any because they are childish and for kids or young teens but animes like angel beats where it's quite funny but also serious and clearly isn't for kids, could do wonders with a little ecchi mixed in. Ironically I never finished black lagoon because it had like nothing sexual in it what so ever which was stupid considering it isn't one of those kiddy animes.

I finished Azumanga Daioh, LOVED LOVED LOVED it :D
Toonami Aftermath (toonamiaftermath.com) shows reruns of animes that were on Toonami before the block was removed from Cartoon Network (blame Stuart Snyder for his crap o_e)
I kinda like Trigun.
