if you like Gurren Lagann than watch Gunbuster and Gunbuster 2, same creators. It's not quite as huge but it's still awesome.

Talismans avatar is from NAdia lol

Oh yeah I'm trying to find an english dub of ghost stories. My cousin has it on dvd but she wont let anyone touch it. I NEED THIS.

Is there any other anime like Gurren Lagann btw?
Full metal Panic, Burst Angel, Neon Genesis Evangelian, and Gundam Wing (my favorite).

I'll start it tonight, after some chillaxing video games. Fairy Tail and Gurren Lagann are now on my list too.

Just a question, did anyone else have a serious problem with FMA: Brotherhood's ending? Because I did.
I did too. what really got on my nerves was how professionally well they ruin the atmosphere in that show. everything would be super serious and i'd be drawn in and then a stupid half-assed joke would pop in and completely ruin it.

you need to watch ghost hunt too then. very good in Jpn and Eng dub so i watch it in Eng.

I watch many animes to even forget a few lol.

Long ramble.

Favorite anime in terms of whole package.
When they cry(aka Higurashi)
Cross game(well done story)
Seto no Hanayome(The comedy that never stops)

There's probably more, but most are quite cliche with good qualities yet a flaw that stops them from being top tiered anime imho.

For instance, Clamp has amazing designs I adore with good anime. Heck, I see Chi as probably my most favorite female character of anime. But aside from the good stuff, the ones I watched have some "holes" I liked to have "closed".

A better example of holes that have me slightly skeptical, yet I loved the anime were works from Key. Kanon for instance, was sweet and sad anime which I will admit. But I did have some "lol wtf" moments. Like Makoto is a girl with amnesia first. Then all of a sudden, why does she become reduced to a fox in a girl's body struggling to say her name? Answer? For some reason her health gets worse because of the main character and now she has to be cared for like a pet? Oh well.

Majority of the anime I watch is because I'm shallow and into art and fanservice. Like Kaoru Tanamachi from Amagami SS was watched because I was interested in her and not the story. Her story was nice and made me fantasized, but the story was meh.

Anyways, why is Higurashi top? I'm biased to say the story, the wtf killings, and probably Mion as the series went by.

Why is Seto no Hanayone top? Much more funny than K-on and Lucky Star imho(no offense to fans of those). Lucky star and K-on are "cute funny" to me and I liked them though.

Why is Cross game top? It just is. It remains focused on what I wanted: a good story wrapped up nicely. As for art, I will admit that I much preferred to see better art since I'm not a back then art anime type, but I learned to appreciate it for what it is. Basically if Cross Game had the art of today meshed with it's story, I'd be all over it. That's not to say I'm all over it now, but I'm just being honest to what I think.

I was so close to putting Seto no Hanayome in my top five. It was really funny ^-^ and I agree about K-ON and Lucky Star being cute funny but that's why I prefer them ^^
