In regards to Highschool of the Dead, the only thing that series has going for it is the fanservice. You can easily get the violence elsewhere. Too bad the actual artist, who illustrated the manga and who's art the anime mimics, is a hentai artist, anyway (Inazuma). So if you're in it for the fanservice, you're honestly better off just looking at his easily found hentai works on the interwebs, lol.

Granted, I have nothing against the writer himself, but you can't expect me to take this series seriously when you have illogical and random pantie shots and boob bouncing happening nearly every cut. And that's my main problem with HOTD. It takes itself too seriously for the main gimmick it uses (large amounts of tits and ass JUST BECAUSE). If it wasn't for that, I'd might enjoy HOTD a lot more than I do now (which is "not at all").

In other news, in case you all didn't know (but you should and shame on you if you didn't) Satoshi Kon passed away. Great mind behind Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfathers, <3 Paranoia Agent <3, etc.

His final statement letter before his death was posted and it's a very depressing but inspiring read.

When I started reading it this track (
) popped up and started playing on iTunes as I read and I tried really fucking hard to hold back the tears. I'm really going to miss his work.

R.I.P. Satoshi Kon. :(

EDIT: I'm going to rewatch Paranoia Agent now.

Oh fuck there was an anime thread? Where have I been?? anyways as I have mentioned in another topic I only watch SOL, Romance and sometimes horror. Of course sometimes its will be merged with fantasy, but it doesn't bother me.

However, I might make an exception for the anime Angel Beats. I have seen mixed reviews of either its was disappointing or really good (choosing his final relationship maybe?) The art looks really good and the story doesn't sound shabby.

However what I really would like to know is another SOL/Romance anime to watch after I am done High School Girls. Any suggestions?
