I only liked the 3 stooges when it had Curly in it. Shemp replaced him because Curly died of a stroke. Unfortunately, there really wasn't viable replacement for Curly, IMO he was the star of the show.

Agreed curly was absolute comedic genious. However shemp replaced curly due to his drinking, gambling and girl problems iirc. Not of his death. In fact curly made a few cameo apperances in shemp episodes one of which i watched just last night.

Fun stooges fact: moe, larry and shemp were brothers believe it or not. Curly i think was related to the others but it me escapes atm. The stooges to me were comedic genious that set the ground work for slap stick comedy and laid foundations for comedians still to this day. They are now my all time favorite comedic group. Lucille ball is my favorite comedy actress still to this day. Lucy just knew how to do it right. The others on the show were merley filler cause she needed someone to work off of.

The comedic acting from those eras are just priceless to me now
