HRD you old geezer.

I personally feel old because all these kids are talking about cartoons with nary a mention of live action shows. I guess they're not old enough yet to have nostalgia for adult tv shows.

I'm not quite old enough to have seen these when they first ran, but when I was about 10, we got cable for the first time, and I was able to watch Nick at Nite and I saw all the old 50's and 60's sitcoms. I loved Green Acres, Mr. Ed, Gilligan's Island (though that was on local TV also), Dobie Gillis, F Troop, Donna Reed, etc. It also helped that the women on some of those shows were real babes (i.e. Shelley Fabares & Eva Gabor).

I also used to like to watch Johnny Carson (Jay Leno isn't nearly as good), and The Price is Right with Bob Barker. I haven't watched it since Drew Carey took over, but I suppose it's still good. I remember watching it every morning in my grandma's basement while she washed clothes.

LOL OMG i effin used to LOVE the price is right. In fact when i take a weekday off i make it a point to flip it on at 10am. Bob barker will always be king but Drew actually does a great job and puts a nice spin on the show.

Classic TV shows from the 30's to the 70's are my absolute favorite. You cant get the "slap stick" comedy like that anymore. I love it all from Laurel & Hardy, to Lucy to threes company heck u name it....

My wife and kids make fun of me cause i almost refuse to watch any tv shows that are not in re-runs. IMO a show aint worth dick unless its in reruns. For example, i just started watching Big Bang Theory about a year ago. And its hilarious.

Reading this i decided to do a 3 stooges marathon last night with my dvds. Of course it made the wife and kids scatter about the house cause they hate it. Now i see what my dad was doing when i was a kid. The man just wanted some peace and quiet. Genious i say GENIOUS!!

Wombat you need to invested in old tv show dvds. Cause when the kids get older ull need it!!!

Yeah, I remember watching The Little Rascals when I was a kid and the 3 Stooges too. And I do have like the first 3 seasons of the Beverly Hillbillies on DVD. :D

Short related story: My wife's mom is a paralegal for an immigration lawyer, and she works with these foreign investors with serious money, and she gets them to deposit it in the same bank where we go. Because of this, every time I walk into our bank, they treat me like I'm Jed Clampett. The manager comes over and is like, "Good afternoon mr. wombat, how's the wife? How are the kids? etc, etc." One of these days I'm gonna say, "Wha ther doin' jes' fine, Mr. Drysdale, jes' fine."

Another one that I used to like, though no one here will know about it, is Big Chuck and Little John. It's this really tall Polish guy, and an Italian midget. They had this late night show where they'd do skits during commercial breaks in some random old movie. They've been on in Cleveland longer than I've been alive, but they retired in like 2005. I think they might have come back though because everyone missed them so much.

Then there's our local weatherman, Dick Goddard. He is THE weatherman in Cleveland. There are others, of course, but none of his prominence. He's really involved in city social functions too. I used to watch him on CBS when we only got 5 channels on the TV. He's getting really old now. I'll be sad when he dies or retires.

Remember when a cable box, was nothing more than a brown recatngle box with 1 dial in the middle that only went to like 35 or something? Those were the days boy i tell yeah....

LMFAO "jus fine mr drysdale, jus fine" LMAO!!!

These kids will never know the wonders of cable from the 80's.
