Season 1 episode 6 is definitely one of the better ones. When I started watching just to see what the big deal was about, I wasn't very impressed at first, but episode 6 was the first one that made me think "Hey, that was actually really good."
 
I was sold right after the 3rd episode because I was really curious as to who Twilight was going to bring to the Grand Galloping Gala. Then even MORE sold when Applejack had a mental breakdown in the next episode lol.

Though I think the Trixie episodes are good starting points for people who are looking for how much stereotype destruction there is when it comes to this show.
